Denise Sedman is a Detroit-born poet now living in Westland, MI. Although she wishes she could have sold her poems for millions, her primary source of income was from thirty-five years in the advertising business. Publishing credits include The Nasty Women Anthology, Bottom Dog Press and The Wayne Literary Review. The anthology “Abandon Automobile,” by Wayne State University Press, includes her poem “Untitled.” Architect students at the University of Detroit Mercy selected this poem as the basis for a “Temporary Environments: Installation.” The “Poem House” project was featured in the University’s literary journal [sic] and illustrated the relationship between art and lived experience. Most recently, Denise has completed her poetry chapbook, “Unbreakable River.”
PhZD is a duo from Flint, Michigan, and they treat music as an art form. They focus on using their experience to craft emotionally charged music that is simple, but hardly simplistic. Most of the time the music they release can be categorized as ‘Hip-Hop/Rap’ but PhZD refuses to be limited by a genre. The duo refuses to play it safe with their music and tries to push the envelope with every track that they create. The two of them create everything that you hear without anyone else getting involved in the process. This isolates them in a way that allows their sound to grow independent of their local music scene and dynamic/chemistry to develop more and more every hour they spend in the studio. They are a force to be reckoned with as the journey the soundscape of music. They are currently recording at 54 Sound in Ferndale.
