The Soul Train 50th Anniversary Party. You can bet you last dollar this one will be filled with LOVE, PEACE, AND SOUL!!!
I’m extremely excited about the reboot of the 4-year old Aretha’s Jazz Jam! Along with Jordan Schug and Dave Zwolinski, we offer an educational experience to many young and experienced jazz musicians looking for a friendly room and non-judgmental group of players/educators interested in the journey of your growth as a musician. Music Hall has been extremely supportive in our endeavour of education themed jam offering mentorship to those who seek it. In that theme, for our reboot, we would like to challenge the attendees who would like to take us up on it, 20 tunes to choose from to learn and play at our session. This Google has lead sheets, links to YouTube performances, and difficulty labels. We’ll play whatever is requested, but in an effort to bring new tunes into the mix we hope some musicians try some of these new selections to broaden their base and keep things interesting at Aretha’s. We can’t wait to see you between 6-9pm this Sunday (or some other Sunday). Come to play, watch, eat, drink, or all of the above. No cover, free street parking, and no opening set. All jazz, all you! https://drive.google.com/.../18DcTs4T13ZCMZjl_WQwwjWS...

The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra, started in April 1999, was initially started as a rehearsal band for Gwinnell to hear his compositions and arrangements played. With encouragement from friend/musicians and an offer of a weekly gig at the Music Menu Cafe in Detroit's Greektown, Gwinnell and fellow musicians made a committment to present high quality big band jazz music. Even though Gwinnell's music was the centerpiece of the then called, Music Menu Jazz Orchestra, charts by other local musicians and other contemporary charts by Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer, and Charles Mingus.
Each show is a true musical experience. Led by Saxophonist Will Cyprian, this group of talented musicians have been brought together to give you a musical experience you will never forget.
