Detroit, MI – The Preservation of Jazz Monday Night Music Series proudly announces the return of one of its most beloved productions: Out of the Mouth of a Woman – A Tribute to the Detroit Queens of Jazz. Originally scheduled for August, the highly anticipated performance makes its triumphant return on Monday, November 17th, 2025, at the historic Aretha’s Jazz Café (350 Madison St, Detroit).
Hosted by the incomparable One Single Rose®️, this unforgettable evening features four powerhouse vocalists who embody the legacy, brilliance, and timeless artistry of Detroit’s women in jazz. Backed by a stellar all-star band, the concert celebrates the spirit, resilience, and unmatched sound of the city’s queens of song.

Mistress of Ceremony: One Single Rose®️
An award-winning poet, playwright, spoken word artist, and actress, One Single Rose®️ is a true cultural force in Detroit. With international performances spanning from Europe to Africa, she has earned recognition for her ability to weave truth, humor, and empowerment into her craft. Known as Detroit’s “Motown Poet Laureate,” One Single Rose®️ has collaborated with musicians, dancers, and visual artists to create powerful interdisciplinary works. Her presence as Mistress of Ceremony guarantees an evening of wit, warmth, and poetic brilliance.
