Jill Jack’s magical connection to her audience is the result of her generous artistry.  By combining her gifts as a conceptual visionary with a warm gathering of musical influences, Jill touches that secret heart of ours with her melodies and lyrics.  In her hometown of Detroit, Jill needs no further explanation.  She’s been lauded with 38 Detroit Music Awards in every conceivable category that applies to a singer-songwriter.  Touring the world to share the music she has written – 10 award winning cds under her belt, Jill Jack has decided to venture where her heart has been calling, the Jazz world.  With the help of her very talented band mates, Jill will be swimming in a pool of music that her parents introduced her to at a young age – The American Songbook.A veteran member of the Detroit musical community, drummer Ron Pangborn has performed and recorded with an impressive number of local and national artists in many genres.  Here in the Motor city, Thornetta Davis, Perry Hughes, Jill Jack, Mitch Ryder and Barbara Payton have all enjoyed Ron’s solid, soulful, groove.  As a touring musician, Ron was an original member of Was (Not Was).  His five year association with music legend Don Was led to working with national recording artists Marshall Crenshaw, Mathew Sweet, Freedy Johnston, The Indigo Girls, and Sheryl Crow.  In addition to playing drums, Ron has a parallel career in television.  He produced the Emmy Award PBS series “Backstage Pass” and continues to edit and produce features for CTND, the Catholic Television Network of Detroit.Dale Grisa is a hot commodity! An Alumni of Wayne State Music School, he studied piano with Matt Michaels.  He is the Music Director for Karen Newman, known for her sell out Holiday Shows.  Dale continually works with Alexander Zonjic, Larry Nozero, among other great jazz artists in the Detroit area.  He is a successful producer, producing not only musicians but projects for GM and Ford.  He is also a successful writer/producer for such jingles as the Michigan Lottery, Medical Weight Loss and more.Takashi Iio is an electric/upright bass player from the Detroit area.  When he was in high school he was selected to be in the All-State Jazz Band.  That led to a full talent scholarship to Wayne State University where he studied Jazz, Latin and Classical music.  He is a full time performer that has toured with The Contours (featuring Sylvester Potts), working as a featured recording session player for Grammy nominated producer Nate Harasim, recording sessions for a Hollywood movie production (“Hit and Run”) and performing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.  Takashi also plays theatre shows at prestigious venues as a contract bass player.  His versatility makes him one of the most sought after bass players in the Detroit are.Jill Jack and the American Songbook Band
