and digital project The Funk Factor will take you back to at time when
the musicianship and vocal abilities of Detroit performers were the toast
of the town worldwide. Not only will The Funk Factor give you an exciting
glimpse into Detroit’s musical past you will also hear the soulful music
of today’s Detroit while hearing and seeing the musical sounds of Detroit’s
future. Just imagine in one performance experiencing Detroit’s musical
past, present and future.
Featured will be the extraordinary vocal talents of Jose Hamilton and
Arielle Crosby. Jose’s tantalizing vocals are featured on the up tempo Motown/Detroit style dance stomper “Anytime You Need Love” from the
“Today’s Soulful Sound of Detroit” CD. If you are a fan of Marvin Gaye,
David Ruffin and other great male vocalists in the Detroit tradition Jose is
your man. Arielle Crosby’s musical talent is far beyond her age. Still in her early twenties Arielle can give you a healthy dose of Modern Pop Music, R&B/Funk, from Gladys Knight to Chaka Khan, Classical and Gospel. Arielle just recently gave a rousing performance in The Music Hall’s Perilous Times. The Funk Factor is under the musical direction of Ufuoma Wallace and Tim King.

You will find Ingenious performing current radio hits and classic covers, but what sets them apart is their original music.
NEW ALBUM
Drawnigh is Ethan Daniel Davidson's new album. Drawnigh's chapters and verses are filled with fiery tales of hard times, dark nights lit only by a whisky moon, troubled soldiers returning after long wars, and unfaithful servants straight out of the Old Testament.
2012's Silvertooth album was praised for its personal message and organic warmth; Drawnigh shares its predecessor's dark interest in atmospheric folk and haunted horn sections but goes further in exploring gospel harmonies, volcanic guitar feedback and textural layers of drawn from a lake of fire. Ethan's years at the Jewish Theological Seminary and studying Islamic Law and Turkish Literature and Philosophy influence the lyrical themes as well as the art that adorns the sleeve itself. Drawnigh's cover photos were taken while traveling around the ancient cities and bordering crossings of Turkey, Syria, Iran as well as a couple beautiful sunsets on the Yukon River in Alaska.

Alex Shier is a native from Port Huron, Michigan. It is a small town, but full of music being just outside the city of Motown. He started playing the guitar at the early age of nine, learning all of the music by ear. It wasn’t until the later stages of his career when he began to develop his voice. After that, he learned how to play piano, bass, drums, the ukulele, and the mandolin. The singer-songwriter has an array of influences from Rock, Blues, Pop/Rock, Jazz, and Classical music. “It wasn’t until 2012 when I started performing in real venues. That is when I really began to develop my vocal technique, and my skills as a performer. I believe real musicianship is being able to stand in front of somebody and blow them away with the talent you have. That’s the goal I have been trying to achieve.”
Since 2012, Alex has played many venues, and bars inside/outside of the Detroit area, trying to get some exposure for his career to kick off. In the 13th season of American Idol, he made it through four rounds after eventually being kicked off of the show. “Ever since American Idol, the motivation has been there for me to excel as a musician.” In 2014, he started writing the songs for his new EP album “Make you feel alright”, which is scheduled to release in the spring. In the later months of 2014, he will be moving to Nashville, Tennessee to advance in his music career.
