The evening opens at 6:00 PM with a special biographical spotlight on both artists, showcasing their remarkable contributions to the jazz world.
Pamela Wise, a revered pianist, composer, and spiritual jazz innovator, has long been a beacon of Detroit’s jazz scene. Known for her Afro-Cuban rhythms, sophisticated harmonies, and healing musical energy, Pamela brings a transcendent depth to the stage that resonates across generations.
Sky Covington, Detroit’s own 11-time Music Award winner, is a powerhouse jazz vocalist, poet, and visionary producer. With a voice that evokes the spirit of the greats, Sky is a torchbearer for the legacy of classic jazz while paving the way for its evolution.
