3. The Three Worlds Trio combines the worlds of jazz, world music and pure improvisation. Original compositions from guitarist Elden Kelly (Luciano's Island Fruits) and bassist Dave Sharp (Desert Sky) are featured in this dynamic trio, as well as adaptions of jazz classics from Sonny Rollins (St. Thomas) and Charles Mingus (Nostalgia in Times Square). Grammy nominated Gayelynn McKinney (from the all-female jazz band Straight Ahead) brings her expansive improvisational drumming style to the compositions and arrangements of the Three Worlds Trio.
