Alise King better known as “Lee Lee” was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Alise
started singing at a very young age. While attending high school, she developed a
love for writing and performing arts. Her favorite classes being solo and ensemble,
and creative writing. She excelled in the arts receiving many music awards, and writing
certificates. After high school Alise begin to write her own music and develop her voice
and sound. Alise has written 9 stage plays, multiple poems, many short stories and over
250 songs.
Alise has tried out for many televised singing competitions such as American Idol (at
the age of 16), X factor, Sunday Best, and The Voice making it to the final audition
round of each show but never onto the show. Alise has won the 107.5fm mason radio
new soul singer competition in October 2010. Alise also recently won and became the
Detroit winner for The BET Apollo Live Lounge Tour Competition in November 2012.
She also is the One of The Lead vocalist for Detroit’s own HTS BAND and has been
a member since 2006. In December 2011 Alise made the COVER of The Michigan
Citizen Newspaper for her performance at The Acoustic Guitar R&B Live Show held at
the Jazz Café in Music Hall, She was also Published in the Michigan Citizen Newspaper
again In February 2012 for her Tribute show Honoring The late Whitney Houston, and
in January 2013 She made the Detroit Free Press for her Live Show at Shots Bar in
Greek town Casino. Recently Alise became the Runner Up in The Fox 2 News National
Singing Competition….
Alise has been compared to singers such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Phyllis
Hyman and many more. Alise King is an experienced Vocalist and lyricist, who has
performed at many venues such as Hart plaza (Ribs n Soul Fest), Music Hall jazz
Café, Hotel St. Regis, Smooth Jazz Festival @ Hart Plaza, Ramba Café (Ohio), Hard
Rock Café (Chicago), Cigar Bar, Mr. Mike’s Lounge, The Ritz, Udetroit Café, Passport
Lounge (Ypsilanti) and many many other places.
Alise’s STRONG but SMOOTH voice will leave you wanting to hear more! She has the
ability to make you dance, fall in love and cry just from her beautiful delivery of song,
and with her signature GROWL she continues to WOW her audiences and fans. Alise
calls herself a Diva because she is A (D)ivine (I)nstrument (V)ocalizing [HER] (A)bility.
Which is simply to SING. Alise has developed a huge following and fan base of people
who love her humble spirit and ability to give one heck of a live performance. She is
currently working on her first solo CD entitled “Simply Me”. Her single Good Ol Dayz is
soon to be released.
