Veteran DJ Judy Adams draws on her music/radio career to create a perfect mood…spinning exotic dance rhythms from all over the world from vintage rare tracks of Fela and Funkadelic to new material from Thievery Corporation, Cheikh Lo, Tony Allen and many others.
Adams’ radio/DJ career began in 1969 paralleling the evolution of contemporary music, as we know it. She introduced Detroit audiences as early as 1973 to world music, electronic, contemporary jazz, art rock, reggae/dub and more. This comes to the table in her mixes, which also utilize her knowledge of music theory and composition. She has worked at WRIF, W4, and WDET, and is currently at CJAM 99.1.
